Biography

Philip Du is a nationally recognized veterans advocate and a service-connected disabled U.S.

Army veteran. He currently serves as National Director of Veteran Service for the Marine Corps

League, the only Marine Corps-related veterans organization chartered by Congress. In his

current role, Philip oversees the organization’s national veterans service officer program

nationwide to ensure Marines, veterans of all U.S. Armed Forces, and their families receive the

benefits, services, and support they are entitled to.

He most recently served as National Deputy Director of Benefits & Claims at The American

Legion’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, where he managed the largest veterans service officer

program in the United States advocating for millions of veterans before the Congress and the

VA.

Philip enlisted in the United States Army in 2013 after graduation from college. He served in

both domestic and overseas assignments until his honorable discharge in 2016 due to a service-

connected injury. Following his military service, he became a VA-accredited service officer who

helped thousands of veterans and families navigate the VA system — from compensation and

pension claims to complex BVA appeals — first as a VA-accredited service officer, then as a

Rating Veterans Service Representative (RVSR) at the VA Regional Office in Vermont.

Philip holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in public administration.

He is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor. He currently resides in Fairfax County, VA with his dog,

Zoey.
